Nissan Shares Details on Fourth EV

After the successful debut of the Nissan LEAF, the automaker announced plans to expand their EV offerings with three other models. In addition to the LEAF, Nissan is looking to create an electric van or taxi, a sedan for their luxury arm, and they left one spot open for debate.

So far, Nissan has presented three viable options, starting with their Esflow two-door sports car concept. The next viable option, a city car that would...

NYC Kicks Off Taxi of Tomorrow Program with Nissan

Last year, New York City announced that they were looking for a new fleet of taxis to replace the outgoing Crown Vics. As the traditional cab had become a symbol for the City, as modes of transportation usually are (think of the Underground in London, the Cable Car in San Francisco, the Subway in NYC), finding a replacement proved to be quite the challenge. Nissan was up for the challenge, presenting the Nissan NV200 to...

Nissan Developing Even Faster Charging Technology

On the tails of a recently released quick-charging station, Nissan announced that by the end of the decade, EV drivers will be able to charge their vehicles in less than ten minutes. The current charger, released in Japanese markets in September, boasts 500V (20 more than the last-gen charger), and is faster than the previous charge capacity of 80-percent in 30 minutes.

But Nissan has been the pioneer in the Electric Vehicle market, and...

Nissan to Expand LEAF Production Globally

Nissan effectively pioneered electric-vehicle technology with the debut of the 2011 LEAF. Since its launch at the end of 2010, Nissan has sold about 15,000 LEAF units, globally. A Nissan Car that Can Read Your Mind?

There are cars that predict when other vehicles on the road are coming too close, or when a rabbit is about to jump in front of you. But soon, vehicles like the Nissan Altima may be able to read your mind. Yes, Nissan cars will soon be psychic.

Nissan is collaborating with École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) to research "Brain Machine Interface" (BMI) concepts. The idea allows disabled people to maneuver wheelchairs by thought transference. Nissan hopes to convert this project for use in cars, so that disabled drivers (and able bodied ones) can drive telepathically.
